In October of 2011, Ms. Atsuko Fish returned t
o disaster-struck Tohoku six months after her initial visit in April.  She witnessed many positive changes as well as challenges with her own eyes, which may not be portrayed in the media.

Please join us as Ms. Fish shares her first-hand encounters and assessment of Tohoku today. After the presentation, a reception will be held in appreciation of the donors of JDRFB and to exchange views about Tohoku recovery.

The Japanese Disaster Relief Fund – Boston (JDRFB) was created as a local vehicle for giving to aid those affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

This Fund is a unique collaboration among three nonprofit organizations: the Boston Foundation, The Japan Society of Boston and the Fish Family Foundation. Our expertise in grant making and our networks in Japan enable us to make direct impact grants to organizations and communities with the greatest need.
